Librarianship
Public Health Infopoint Assistant | Public Health Library and Informatics
At PHLI, I serve as a reference and instruction librarian - I answer questions at the reference desk, through the online reference queue, and over the phone. I also teach courses on library resources, citation software, and health-specific resources. Topics have included statistical health sources, research strategies, the libx toolbar, citation chasing through ISI and google scholar, choosing keywords, facet analysis, strategic searching in LexisNexis and ProQuest, and RefWorks/EndNote.
A typical reference question could be anything from "what does the recent research show about asthma health education?" to "how many people in Michigan use hospice?" Every day is an adventure.
Student Reference Assistant | Shapiro Undergraduate Library
At Shapiro, I served a large population of undergraduate students with diverse information needs, from citation tracking to reseach help in every imaginable subject area.
