“You can't teach an old dogma new tricks.” -- Dorothy Parker

I have had the tremendous good fortune to be the primary instructor of two courses already here at Michigan:

  1. Linguistics 111 (summer 2008) and
  2. English 125 (fall 2008)

In Fall 2009 I'll be a GSI (teaching assistant) for Linguistics 209: Language and Mind. I believe it's basically a mentalist's/cognitive scientist's tour of the main questions in theoretical linguistics over the last 50 years or so and I'm the token P (phonetics/phonology) person on a team of S people. This should be a fantastic experience for all involved (especially me).

Prior to this, all of my teaching experience has been in computer programming (javascript and perl), UNIX system administration, and numerous computer skills workshops (regular expressions, how to use a mouse, introduction to vi, etc.).
