Proposals for presentations, special sessions, papers with a performance component, and panel discussions are solicited on any topic related to musicology. Presentations will be limited to twenty minutes, with an additional ten minutes allotted for questions and discussion.

A note from an advisor or other faculty member verifying student status should accompany each abstract submitted by a student. Student members of the AMS Midwest whose abstracts are selected by the program committee will be eligible for one of two annual prizes for outstanding papers offered by Indiana University Press and A-R Editions, Inc. Students wishing to compete for the annual prizes should so indicate in the cover letter to their abstract submission to the program committee. In order to be considered, students must submit three copies of the complete paper to the program committee no later than the meeting at which they read the paper. Candidates may be selected from either meeting, but winners of the awards will be announced only after the spring meeting and their names will be published in the Chapter newsletter.
