Directions

Local Maps to Ann Arbor and Burton Tower

From North and Northwest

Take US-23 south to M-14 west; Exit at Main Street (#3). Take Main south (straight off exit). Turn left onto Huron. Turn right onto State Street. Turn onto Washington. Park on street or at city structures, see “P” notations on map.

From East, West, and South

Take I-94 to State Street; Head north off of exit— (Left if traveling east; Right if traveling west). Travel 3-4 miles north to UM campus / downtown. Park at city structures (left on William, right on Maynard.) See “P” notations on map.





Burton Tower is the tallest building on UM’s Central Campus. It is a white, four-sided clock tower near the center of campus and is on a pedestrian plaza between Hill Auditorium, The Michigan League, and the Modern Languages Building, see starred location on map. Enter either door at the tower base and take the elevator to the fifth floor. The meeting is in room 506, directly across from the elevator.

Notes: Please bring sample assignments, syllabi, or other teaching ideas to share during the day, especially at the “Round Robin.” Position papers for Panel I will be available prior to the event. RSVP to tmhd2004@umich.edu if you plan to attend and to request copies of papers or to submit teaching examples to be included in a workshop packet. There will be a post workshop dinner at 6pm; all attendees are welcome.
