Finding Your Waldensian Ancestors
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~waldense/
This site provides research instruction and help with finding your Waldensian ancestors, most of whom were forced to leave the area at the end of the 1600s because of their Protestant religious beliefs. At that time the Piedmont valleys were a part of French speaking Savoy. Of particular note is the page of Waldensian Surnames at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~waldense/surnames.htm. It may give you an indication of whether a particular ancestral line of yours could have been part this religious community.
