I am now considering a circular route. I am wondering if any Packwood researcher has any information on the Huff family mentioned in digest 276. Maybe I can find Christopher this way. I visited your website after seeing your message to the Via Website. I have two questions that maybe you can answer: 1. Do you have an ancestor named James Turner who married a lady named Wood? If so, what was her name? These folks had a relationship with the Via/Viers family in Patrick and Greenbrier Counties. 2. I noticed on your Web Page reference to William Turner who married Jane Hunter, daughter of William Hunter. Have you in your research ever come across a William Hunter Cavendish who first appeared in Greenbrier Co. WVA in 1769? He is an ancestor of mine that I can't find origins for. Any help would be appreciated. Possibly had another son named James, born 1796. William then headed out toward Kentucky, never to be heard from again - supposedly killed by Indians. We know nothing at all of his wife, or what became of her. Our Thomas was raised by a Quaker family by the name of Beason, married Hannah Carson, daughter of James Beatty Carson, in Harper's Ferry. Thomas and Hannah eventually moved to Butler County, KY, where they raised a large family. We have heard that William was kicked out of England at a young age for preaching, and came to America, where he worked off the cost of his passage for seven years. We've also heard that he was born in Maryland. So, our brick wall is William. Surely do wich I had more to share with you, but that's it. See any similarities????
