I've been on the list for some time but have not really found any other confirmed "cousins". Is anyone out there searching for the family of John Greenberry Burnett (1810-1893)? He was in Sullivan County, TN and a soldier in the Cherokee Removal of 1838. He was my g-g-g-grandfather... Love to find someone out there who is searching for his parents because I've been stumped for years! Received a message that David was the son of Gideon Via/Viah/Viau. Now found father, Gideon, (I believe). I included some of his neighbors as list is said to be in same sequence of original records (below). Number is the page followed by the township. There were 2 listed as farmers which makes it likely that the male 45 & up was too old to work. THE ORIGINAL RECORD NEEDS EXAMINED TO BE SURE THIS IS A VIARS FAMILY. From the book " Revolutionary Soldiers Who Lived IN Gallia County, Ohio" , edited by Henrietta Evans & Mary Wood and published by the Gallia County Genealogical Society it says on pages 57 & 58 that Gideon Viah/Viers moved to Gallia County in 1818 and died in Gallia County between March and September, 1840. You should buy this book for a complete description of Gideon Viers' service, etc. A Regards, Jim Bailey Kinston, NC >> ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Apr 1999 11:31:18 -0700 From: "The Bakers" To: BTRVETC-L@genealogy.org Subject: John Acuff Message-ID: <3728A576.4C46@hyperaction.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello All I was wanting to know if anyone had any infomation on the John Acuff and his time in the French and Indian War.
