He married Irene Francelia Eddy Jan. 20, 1919. He died Dec. 10, 1963 and she died March 8, 1979. They had 7 children. What I'm really interested in is Irene. and her Eddy family connections. I do know her ancestors have already been traced back to Rev. William Eddy who was born between 1558 and 1564 in Bristol,Gloucestershire,England. My family has been in Virginia as far back as I can trace. So if there's a connection I think I'm only one generation away. Gaunt Subject: Fw: Gearhart family Hi Christine, I am no longer in the discussion group do to time concerns, but I would like to pass on this request from Sarah Thompson. I sent her what I had on Exonia Packwood Gearhart's with a genealogy report and an excerpt from a book I have regarding her daughter Ruth's family. If you could, please pass on her requests to others in the group so that she might find an answer. Looks interesting. Thank you for your help. Tessy McMillan -----Original Message----- From: Clif and Sarah Thompson To: tdmcmillan@email.msn.com Date: Thursday, January 07, 1999 10:23 PM Subject: Gearhart family I have recently come across quite a bit of information that you posted regarding Valentine and Exonia (Packwood) Gearhart. (Especially the letter written by Edith Ratliff Gunn.) I am trying to establish a connection here with my g-g-grandmother, Exonia Alicia Gearhart, b. 1837, m. John William Gaunt and lived in Dallas County, Missouri. I believe that Exonia Alicia Gearhart could well be the grand-daughter of Valentine and Exonia (Packwood) Gearhart, but I am missing a generation here. I have information on the children of Valentine and Exonia (also from some of your postings, I believe), but lack information on the grandchildren (or second generation). I have information that my Exonia Alicia was born in Illinois, but her parents were both born in Tennessee; however, I don't know who they were. I have also learned that Valentine and Exonia moved to Tennessee about 1816 , so that part would fit. Can you help or do you know of living descendents of Valentine and Exonia that might have information? Thanks for your assistance. Can anyone help David with his question? Best wishes to All for a Wonderful 1999. Nyla CREED DePauk http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/3412 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Subj: John Ogletree & Rebecca Turner Date: 1/9/99 10:00:54 PM Pacific Standard Time From: dnbishop@flex.net (David N. Bishop) To: NCreed1@aol.com I got your address from a Web page where you had posted Turner info, and I really need some help from someone. I am convinced from all the circumstantial evidence that Elizabeth Ogletree, dau of David Olgletree and Rebecca Turner, is the Elizabeth Ogletree who married my ggg gf David Bishop (1789 GA-1875 MS) 1808 in (probably Jasper Co) GA. However, everyone has the same info posted -- that she was born about 1805. Do you know if that is correct or do you have any other info on her. My Eliz Ogletree was born in 1787 (SC according to a granddaughter's census, but I am not sure that it was not GA). I have seen her gravemarker in a private cemetery in Panola Co., MS. My line is associated with the Pruitt line from Union Co., SC, who intermarried into the Turner-Ogletree line of GA. I descend from the Rountree line of Union Co, as do the Pruitts. I descend, on my mother's side, from Elijah Wilbourn and Mary Roundtre, and another of their children married John Bishop, son of my ggg gf David Bishop; I descend from another son William Allen Bishop. Everything but the date of birth fits like a glove! If you can help me, I would be most grateful. I also would like to post a query somewhere that Turner and Ogletree researchers frequent if you have an address for such a location. David N.
