The only condition is that they fought in the Civil War, and don't already have one, but they must have proof of service. These are intended for unmarked, although identified, graves of Confederate or Union soldiers. The monuments are very nice. If you have the service record, some funeral homes will apply for you, then set-up the stone when it arrives at no charge. This takes about six months from the time of application. Even if there is a reasonable installation fee, it is well worth it. If you have a relative who fought in the Civil War, you know where he is buried, and he has no grave marker, then do apply. It really isn't that much trouble. Those of you who are on AOL should see a difference in Issue 66. Please let me know if there are any problems with this change. TN > KY > TX Message-ID: Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Hi fellow Rooters - Searching for any information on my paternal grandmother Bessie Lee TURNER and her husband, my grandfather, Thomas A. PRICE - especially any information on their ancestors or possible siblings, and exactly where in Tennessee she was born. Thomas A. PRICE b. 26-Apr-1862 Russellville, Logan Co., KY d. 01-Mar-1943 Abilene, TX Bessie Lee TURNER b. 13-Oct-1864 Tennessee d. 23-Nov-1941 Abilene, TX Records show that they were married on 19-Sep-1883 in Sumner Co., TN, They moved to Abilene, TX on 24-Dec-1894. Although census files and his obituary show that Thomas was born in Logan Co., KY, whenever asked, my father, John E. Price, Sr., always told people he and his father, Thomas, were from Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY. Thomas's Census listing shows my grandmother, Bessie, to have been born in Tennessee, and her tombstone confirmed the vital dates. Her death certificate did not show her father's name and only that her mother's maiden name was TRIBUE, but that name is so unusual I wonder if it could possibly be a misspelling or a variant of TRABUE, a French Huguenot family name. Her obituary gave no information not already known, and shown here. A fellow rooter found her marriage records and we found out for the first time her middle name was Lee. Various middle initials had been used in different records, but no name. Have hit that well known brick wall on finding any information about either of their parents or siblings. As always, will appreciate any and all information and will be happy to share. John E. Price (Jr.) Ft. Worth, TX ------------------------------ Date: 3 Oct 1998 13:43:14 -0700 From: "Christine E.
