Also, I though everyone might like to know that our Arizona Highland Games are coming in February. They will be held February 21 and 22nd at the Mesa Community College. If you live in the area you might like to stop by. I will be representing the House of Burnett. You can't miss getting there, Mesa Community College is right off of 60 on Dobson. So, if you manage to have the week end off drive over and visit. Remember you-all-come. We are pretty sure that the James Turner whose will is dated July 8, 1785 in Halifax County, VA is the right James Turner, father of our ancestor Ransom Turner. The names of his children appear often further down the line. In addition to Ransom, his will lists children: Armistead, Bazel(Boswell?), Abner, Mastain(Martin?), Fanny, Susannah, Elizabeth. No wife is named, but he names his brother William, "loving friend" Moses Turner, and friend Thomas Stanfield as executors. Will is witnessed by Thomas Turner, William Holt, Barnet Turner, and James Turner (a different one?) We would hope that some of the wills and deeds in Halifax county might help us move further up the line, but will welcome new data in any direction. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Feb 1998 15:53:11 +0000 From: "Bert Edens" To: btrvetc-l@genealogy.org Subject: BURNETT Obits - AR and PA Message-Id: <199802022150.PAA10967@mail.iso.net> Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Greetings...
