I am forwarding it to the Burnett-Turner- Ross-Via-Etc group. Some months back, it was brought to the group's attention that our Shadrack Turner may descend through the John Turner who married Elizabeth Brashears in Prince George's County, MD. It is great to hear from another person who believes that may be the case. If you do not belong to the BTRVETC list, you may like to check us out. Sharon Camalo > Subscribers, Sharon emailed me about her family, and I'm hoping that someone on the list will recognize the names. If you do, please include her in your reply, and the list too if you feel it's appropriate. Sharon, if you haven't yet, you might try checking the Burnett/Turner/Via/Ross/Etc mailing list archives at http://www-personal.umich.edu/~cgaunt/etc/etc.html There is a rudimentary search engine; I suggest you use one keyword to search with, probably your Labourne given name, or else a location connected with him. You might also want to consult the excellent books by June Baldwin Bork, "The Burnetts and Their Connections". I don't have these gems myself; if I did, I'd check for you. They may be available at your local genealogy library, or you can find out how to purchase them from June via her web page: http://www.junebaldwinbork.com Many on the list have copies of June's books. Hopefully someone can help you get the info you need. They first moved to Madison County, near Richmond Ky. and later to Adair County Ky. where he constructed a mill on Crocus Creek. I am wondering if he could be the Thomas Turner, son of Jeremiah Turner who moved from Henry County, Va. to Cumberland County, Ky. I was there a couple of years ago with my great uncle doing Burnett research! The picture of him on my website was taken about four miles or so from Shelbyville. Refresh my memory on how your line runs. Aren't you descended from James Cunningham Burnett through Felix Grundy Burnett? I've heard of that book, and would LOVE to have one. If you succeed in getting ahold of her, I'd love to buy one as well. Please let me know. The Beamans married into the Burnett line at Cataract, Indiana, where my GGGrandfather was living. I don't have much on the connection there, and would love to have more. Do you still live in Shelbyville? Could you do some research there if I provided some funds? I'm going to forward this to the group to see if anyone else might have a copy of the book you mention...anyone have a copy of "Burnett, Baker, Beaman, and Related Families"? Kevin K. Have you ever been in touch with or read Mrs. Blanch Burnett's book, Burnett, Baker, Beaman and Related Families"? I had an e-mail from Jack Burnett the other day telling me about her and I did have the book but lent it to who knows and didn't get it back. I'm trying to get a copy from her if she is still living. Her husband died in 1995 so maybe she is still living. She came to my home in Shelbyville, Ky., when she was gathering info for the book. She got a lot of stuff from the Charles Burnett book, which I think you said had some errors in it. Anyway, just thought I'd pass that along to you. ^@ -------------------------------- End of btrvetc-d Digest V98 Issue #41 *************************************
