I am working on my ancestry lineage, and my goal is to trace my family ancestry as far back as possible. There may be someone who is working on the same family line as myself, so I am pleased to send this information to you. I would like to think everyone who has made this possible. I am interested in corresponding with any descendant or anyone who might be working on the same lineage. BENJAMIN TURNER (d. abt. April 1823) is my fourth great-grandfather. He was married to ISABELL (b. 1750-1760). He had a son named JOHN (b. 1780-1790) who was married to ELIZABETH (b. abt. 1792, d. abt.1850). This takes me to my second great-grandfather JAMES S. TURNER (b.1831, d.1911) who was married to MARINA ANN GREGORY (b.1832, d.1909). James was a volunteer during the Civil War in the 9th Regiment of the KY Infantry. James and his wife lived in Macon Co. / Smith Co. TN area. Their children were William Camel, Sarah A., Lucy Melvina, Johnie G., and Louisa Alice. My great-grandfather was WILLIAM CAMEL TURNER (b.1856-1941) he was married to CELIA SUZANNE BLANKENSHIP (1866-1908) Their children were Marlin, Sue Eller, Walter Chester, Almer Hester, Della Doshia Ann, Ida Minnie Stella, Sarah Etter Ethel Frances, John Sydney Levester Burton, Mammie Lillian, and there was a baby Doe. You may correspond by e-mail address: wwturner@zoomnet.net or by snail mail at: Wm. W. Turner, P.O. Box 490, South Shore, KY 41175. Any assistance in this family research will be greatly appreciated. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 9 Mar 1998 09:30:28 EST From: GstAmcot To: BTRVETC-L@genealogy.org Subject: Re: BTRVETC-L Digest V98 #13 Message-ID: Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Do not need geneology on Turner family. They have been great. I am looking for the parents of Thomas Burnett b. abt. 1812 in Wilson County Tennessee. He married Nancy Caroline Parks on December 24, 1841. His children are: George M. b. 1843 John H. b Sept 19, 1844 (my gg-grandfather) Felix M. b 1847 (I think he went by Milo) Leander W. b. 1850 Eliza J. b. 1848-1853 (conflicting info from two census reports) William F. b 1858 Sarah b. 1862 The LDS CD's listed three more children but I have not found any other information to confirm that these were also children of Thomas and Nancy. They are: Lewis C. b. 1856 Fred b. 1866 Olive b. 1863 Thomas's wife Nancy and all of his children were born in Marion, Illinois in Williamson County. At first I thought that this Thomas was the brother of Peter Hardeman Burnett, but when I read a compilation that had Kevin's descendant's I realized it could not be the same. There is one compilation, number 215, that lists Thomas, his wife and children from a census report, but that is the only reference through all the compilations that I could find. Anyone that has any information at all, I would love to hear from you. Thank you so much for this newsletter. I wish all the names I were researching had something like this.
