My site address has changed, but it's still on the net, and, although it needs updating, the original compilation zip files and the updates up to a couple of months ago are there and ready to download. The new address is: http://www.osprey.net/~kevinste Go to that site and you'll see the Burnett links just as they were before I moved. I will try to get the site updated and add the rest of the compilations sometime soon (I have them all). Here were the results: On the BURNETTS: there were no JOSEPH BURNETTS listed and there were too many others to list all. So I eliminated the ones from NY,NJ, MA, CT and PA since yours came from Va and points south and west. Here is the result: (PS means patriotic service other than military; the state at the end of the notation is the state from which he served, PNSR means someone collected his pension) VIRGINIA: JEREMIAH BURNETT b about 1749 VA d after 1817 Va m. ? I didn't look up your JENKINS as you said he was born in 1790, too late for Revolutionary War service. BTW the DAR Patriot Index only lists those who have been documented by NSDAR There were many others who served no doubt. Good hunting, Carole In a message dated 2/3/00 5:17:43 PM Eastern Standard Time, Dojohn99 writes: << Hi Carole - Many thanks for the offer to check the DAR book, but if I could ask a favor of you, would you also check for a Jacob Clowers, b. ca 1750 in Franklin Co., VA, on Mable's maternal side. Family history says he was a soldier in the Rev War, and his dates are okay for that, but have never found verification of it. Thought I was onto something with James W. Jenkins, whose line leads to Mable's paternal grandmother, but then found he wasn't even born until 1790. And so it goes. I owe you big. But, all to no avail. Thought the Jeremiah listed might be Mable's at first, but he was too young. Actually he was Joseph's son, and the dates were way off. There was a Jeremiah II in the Rev War, who had a somewhat embarrassing military career, according to June's book, but he was one of Mable's distant cousins, and it has to be direct, I'm sure. I have jillions of John Burnetts in the database, but none in her direct line until yours and hers mutual umpteenth great grandfather, John II, from the 1500s. Thanks again for all the effort - John ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2000 02:16:07 EST From: Bervi@aol.com To: btrvetc-l@genealogy.org Subject: Re: Wife of Thomas Jefferson Turner Message-ID: <77.199187b.25dcfa37@aol.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit _M_, do you know this Ann T.
