Janice Kinsler Smith Genealogist janicesmith@erols.com =========================== Janice and Anyone Else Interested: Justin Kirk Dickens' updated DICKENS book should be available soon. I'm a descendant of John Dickens who married Nellie Hendricks (above). Their son John was my grandmother's father. He married Mary Jane Turner, daughter of John Burnett Turner, son of Rev. John Turner and Nancy (Burnett) Turner, son of William Turner, and son of Shadrack Turner. Nyla Janice: I'll try to fill in some information on my line for you. Later. =========================== Subj: Re: Williams Date: 97-11-05 06:36:30 EST From: janicesmith@erols.com Reply-to: janicesmith@erols.com Nyla, guess we never did have a lunch or whatever. What a change you made. The Virginia Room is a treasure. Will check on your Thomas Dickens this morning. There were many Dickens early on in Patrick County. I have never been able to figure out just who all of them were. I have done a most comprehensive search of the Webbs of the surrounding counties, but can not figure out who some of them are back in the late 1700's in Patrick. Merry Webb has caused the most trouble and interest of most people. We know something - not enough. My Williams seemed to have just dropped into Patrick County with no clues. There is another branch in Patrick that came from Pittsylvania County. Grandpa keeps saying his family was from Wales. There must be something to this. He is 104. He heard something as a child - much closer in time to figuring out what we need to learn. I don't recognize your Williams names. A Epherime landed in Carroll County. We can not figure out who he is. I have spent more time trying to find this Williams line than anything else. It has been the most difficult thing I have tried to do.
