Since this has been a rather slow period for our mailing list, this will be a small compilation. If you haven't done so already, be certain to check out all our compilations on Chris Gaunt's homepage. They can be searched and downloaded. Thanks to Kevin, all the files have been zipped. Any information you care to share on your family will be appreciated. I am hunting Thomas Turner born 1700, came to New London, CT (Montville, actually), and I know some of his descendants were in the Rev. War. Thanks. WILLIAM WILTSHIRE BURNETT was Captain, Co. H 55th (McKoin's) Infantry later Captain Co. E., 44th Consolidted Tennessee Regiment. The 44th and 55th were apparently hard hit (as many were) at Shiloh. In case anyone is interested, I was referred to this page for the two regiments: http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/4455 There are other Civil War links on this site. Caroline Burnett Cook ================== Subj: Burnett Family Date: 97-10-13 14:47:02 EDT From: ziglou@computype.com (Woody Ziglou) To: ncreed1@aol.com Nyla, We were having a tough time reaching you. Kevin said we were using an L instead of a 1. Anyway, please put us on your list. What is your connection to the Burnett Family? Rea and Woody Burnett ============= Welcome. I can see the confusion between L and 1. When I started using NCreed1@aol.com, I never considered it being a problem; but now realize the problems it has caused. I'm a descendant of the Rev. John Turner who married Nancy Burnett, a daughter of John Burnett and Nancy (Tate) Burnett. Their son John Burnett Turner, Sr., was my grandmother's grandfather. Any information you care to share on your family will be appreciated. =================== The end of this compilation.
