I just want to let you know that I work for the State of Tennessee across the street from the State Library and Archives. I have been compiling a listing of the Turners of Middle Tn. I have over 800 names along with information concerning their children as recorded in the land transactions. I have this information on Symphony software would be glad to send you a copy if you wanted to uplode it. I noticed that there was someone looking for information on Terisha Turner of Sumner Co. Tn. I have him on my land transactions but do not know where to send the information Could you give me an address? =================================================== To: tturner@mail.state.tn.us From: Nyla Creed Subj: TURNERs cc: Pat-Chesney@easy.com Hello: So nice to hear from you. I am sending you the address of the person who is interested in Terisha Turner. Her name is Terri. Anything you care to share on your line or other Turner lines that we can put on Chris Gaunt's homepage would be much appreciated. Hopefully, we'll all benefit from our exchanging information. I am not familiar with Symphony. Is it possible to send this to me as an ANSCI file? Can I add you to our mailing list? You were inquiring about Adam Turner. I gather you are from Alabama! Did any of your people come or live in Tn. in route to Alabama? I have been researching the Turner name in Tn. I have over 900 Turner's, however in all of my research I have found only two Adam Turner's, Father and Son. Also Francis Turner was in that same county. Some of these Turnere's migrated to Limestone, Alabama. I do not know where that is. If you can give me some related names or who Adam might have marrie I can possibly be of help. ========== Nyla, I could not find alabama to forward to for some reason! E-mail: tturner@mail.state.tn.us Comptroller of the Treasury State of Tennessee =================================================== Dear Mr. Turner: The mail I sent to Alabama233@aol.com has also been returned. Maybe we can track him down from someone else on the list. I'll try in the next compilation. I believe Terri also comes from the Sumner Co TN line. I have sent her a couple of your messages. They were not returned to me, so I "assume" they were delivered to her. Nyla ===================================================== Date: Fri, 31 May 96 19:35:59 -0700 From: EL Smith To: ncreed@pop.erols.com I'm wondering if I may be part of your research? My great grandmother was Mary Ellen Turner (her maiden name was Holman). Her mother was Martha Burnett and Martha was the daughter of Glen O. Burnett. The Turner and Burnett combination caught my eye. My people were all in Oregon and Martha Burnett was on one of the very first wagon trains to Oregon. Her Uncle was Peter H. Burnett, the first govenor of California. Please let me know. =================================================== Date: Sun, 26 May 1996 11:05:00 -0400 From: Waddie B Salmon To: Nyla Creed Subject: BURNETT GRAVES Someone on Virginia Roots posted about anyone looking up the location of a Burnett grave in Bedford, Virginia if there was anyway to do it. I had to grin and I replied. At the Bedford City/County Museum in Bedford, for years they have been researching, documenting and cross referencing graves in Bedford Co. They have numerous binders with this information and easy to look for anyone. If anyone is interested in a look-up in these binders, please let me know. Give me as much info as possible on each name. If you just ask for a last name, there could be one or a hundred. waddie@earthlink.com =================================== The end!
