It was in the early days of the new machines
that could simulate reality,
and
some were unusually susceptible
There were even some extreme cases reported
where a sinister syergy of stress
and the seductiveness of certain games
combined to create a confusion
between the game and reality itself,
where the game invaded the brain all the way
to the subconscious,
and
reactions revealed themselves while the people
were in a deep sleep
But
such problems were soon corrected
