Alien Abduction

By Stephanie Kidwell & Kara Koester

She was so terribly calm,
Her pulse hadn't jumped.
Even through the inspection
She stood tall, not slumped.
She took in the needles
With one look of her eyes.
And even the bright lights
Only made her sigh.
We posed odd questions,
Gave her random, searching looks,
But at the end of the day
She made us think that it was us that she took.
We always keep the patients
And hang them in a glass case,
But this little earthling
We tossed on her face.
In my defense I was only curious
About what had made her so cold,
Because all of our patients
Were never this bold.
She looked at the spaceship,
And then out to space,
And said with a grin
That we were no alien race.
When I questioned her deeper
I almost ran
Because she boomed a great laugh and said,
"You're just a man!"
