Paula has always wanted to be a writer ...well, except that time she wanted to be a giraffe. She was a very disappointed 5-year-old when she realized she couldn't grow up to be an animal.
Paula creates worlds, filled with some mythical beings and some beings straight out of her warped imagination. She believes in unicorns and fairies and children. Although not published yet, Paula continues to collect rejection letters and continues to write undaunted. Like her characters she is on a quest and no amount of rejection letters are going to stop her. She writes both novels and picture books, mostly fantasy. She has over five novels in some stage of the editing/circulation process as well as three picture books.
In March 2000 Paula got REAL serious about her writing -- which means she joined SCBWI. In January 2003 she became Regional Co-Advisor of Michigan.
"To pay the bills" Paula works at the University of Michigan Law School. She lives in a lovely old home with her sister, ancient dog and three pesky cats.
