The set up and some of the team members

The Anesthesiology Team consisted of (from the left) Judy Negele the superboss for anesthesia and on her third trip , Brian Woodcock (me) back for my second trip and Jackie Ramirez on her first time.

From the left, Jackie, Cathy, Mirek and Debbie in the small hallway outside the OR's, which also served as our recovery unit.

Mirek and Ethel starting to sort through the equipment we shipped. The cardboard boxes were all shipped ahead of time and we all had a foot locker to bring with us.

Ethel, our scrub nurse from Toledo

Yvonne in the second, tiny OR, no wider than this photo.

Judy and Karin Muraszko our University of Michigan pediatric neurosurgeon.

Nick Boulis, resident surgeon and wandering Mariachi. I never worked out why everyone started wailing when he played...

Mirek Bobek, our frealess leader and organizer, at least we couldn't detect any fear in his eyes behind those sunglasses.

The big OR ready for us to move in. The anesthetic machine is a very basic machine with oxygen, halothane and isoflurane vaporisers and a circle.
We had no facility for ventilation.

From the left; Suresh Ramnath our surgeon from the VA, Andy neurosurgery resident, Ruben Spanish (from Spain) translator, recovery and post-op assistant, me and Mirek. Our transportation did not have enough seats so the guys piled in the back.
I don't who's hands are responsible for the rabbit ears on Andy and me.
