Here are some of my photos from Guatemala of the Healing the Children Medical Mission; University of Michigan Project Shunt 200.

This was the second year that I assisted on this Mission, the photos from the first year can be seen here.

A group of 16 surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, translators and helpers spent one week in Guatemala City taking over an empty operating suite, completely stocking it and operating on children with neurosurgical problems including hydrocephalus, myelomeningocoeles and encephalocoeles. 26 cases were done in five full days of operating.

This year's trip was organised by Miroslav Bobek (Mirek) with help from last year's organiser Nick Boulis in conjuntion with Healing the Children, an American charity. If you are interested in sponsoring next year's trip in any way please contact Nick at nboulis@umich.edu.
