Book Description Front Cover
Linear Mixed Models: A Practical Guide using Statistical Software I have written a book entitled Linear Mixed Models: A Practical Guide Using Statistical Software with two colleagues here at U of M (Kathy Welch and Andrzej Galecki). The book is now in its third edition, which was first available in June 2022. Click on the title to access electronic versions of the data files and syntax discussed in the book. The book was published by Chapman Hall/CRC Press in Boca Raton, Florida. You can order copies from the publisher or online retailers (e.g., Amazon). Applied Survey Data Analysis (ASDA) I have also written a book, now in its second edition as well, which is joint work with my colleagues Steve Heeringa and Pat Berglund at ISR, entitled Applied Survey Data Analysis. This book aims to provide researchers with guidance on correct application of modern techniques for design-based analysis of complex sample survey data, and is available from various online retailers. Applied Survey Data Analysis, Second Edition
Total Survey Error In Practice I was a co-Editor of this new edited volume presenting modern research on Total Survey Error. Survey researchers in all disciplines will find a wealth of practical guidance on minimizing various sources of survey error in today's information-rich research environment. I also contributed two chapters in this book, focusing on issues related to analytic error and considering a TSE perspective on implementing an incentive experiment in a large national survey. This Wiley book is now available online. Total Survey Error in Practice
Experimental Methods in Survey Research: Techniques that Combine Random Sampling with Random Assignment I was a co-Editor of this new Wiley volume focusing on the implementation of randomized experiments in probability and non-probability samples. This book presents a state-of-the-art review of how to effectively implement experiments within ongoing survey research projects, and presents a variety of examples including numerous recommendations for practice. Experimental Methods in Survey Research
Interviewer Effects from a Total Survey Error Perspective I was a co-Editor of this new Chapman Hall / CRC Press volume that presents a series of state-of-the-art research studies on interviewer effects and the practice of survey interviewing. Using the Total Survey Error framework to evaluate the essential yet complex roles that interviewers play in high-quality data collections, this book presents practitioners and researchers with evidence-based best practices for all aspects of data collection involving human interviewers, and lays a foundation for future research on survey interviewing.
