RE:  WEEK 13 – Making Heads or Tails of It

La Nina and Record Highs?
(EFLP) Monday.  The weather isn't the only thing warming up around here.  This was probably a league record average score this week of 1030.  Led by the resurgent Cardiac Kids 1411 point week, Barry's team proves why it should be reckoned with.  This is the second highest score in league history.  This score was followed up with Team Guido's 1303 point showing.  The rest of the league also made up ground on the lead, scoring from a low of 876 - 1084.  The leader only scored 749.  Wow.  And many teams missed on playing the best WRs.

Young Bucks
(EFLP) Monday.  In the final analysis, who would you rather have.  QB:  Testeverde vs. Young - Young.  Gazelles 0 Bruisers 1.  RB1: Terrell Davis vs. Barry Sanders - Davis.  Gazelles 1 Bruisers 1.  RB2: Garrison Hearst vs. Emmitt Smith - Push.  Gazelles 1.5 Bruisers 1.5.  WR 1:  Terrell Owens vs. Jerry Rice - Owens.  Gazelles 2.5 Bruisers 1.5.  WR2: OJ McDuffie vs. Keyshawn Johnson - Push.  Gazelles 3.0 Bruisers 2.0.  Kicker: del Greco vs. Carney - del Greco.  Gazelles 4.0 Bruisers 2.0.  It looks like that insurmountable lead that everyone envisioned is looming as high as Mount Pleasant.  Especially with the nearly 700 point gain in two weeks posted by the Gazelles.  Expect a lead change within the next two weeks and (potentially) a fantastic finish if the Bruisers can regain even some of their former greatness.  Then again, the lines are stacked with a batch of defenders against Barry Sanders, Emmitt and Chris Warren are turning into a couple of old aiking men, the Bruiser's QB isn't as young as he used to be, and the Rice is all wet.  If they would only give Keyshawn the damn ball, this team would look less like Art Carney. Crap.

Oh Ref - You Suck
(EFLP) Monday.  Officiating gaffes helped Chris's team.  Bledsoe got an extra 10 yards, two completions, and a TD from a blown call in the NE-Buffalo game.  Barry lost potential Bettis points, but gained when Hanson hit another FG in the Pittsburgh-Lions debacle.  Of course Detroit should have gotten the ball on two Pittsburgh "turnovers" in the game which would have helped give Sanders more chances with the ball.  The come from behind Lions threw the ball more, with Barry Bleske receiving Herman Moore points as a result.

Warm droppings III
(EFLP) Tuesday.  The races have heated up again.  1st place is up for grabs (Guido & Bruce).  Second place is equally contented (Cesar/Sheila - 63 points apart).  Mike seems secure in 5th.  Kevin is chasing Chris while trying to fend off Einar and Barry.  The race for last will be very intriguing.

This just in ...
Guido is down to one QB and his backup as is Bruce.  He does have 4 healthy RBs as does Bruce.  He also has 5 healthy WRs, while Bruce is down to 3.  Cesar has only 1 eligible QB and his RBs are all dinged up.  Kevi ngets Levens back if he can beat out Darick Holmes.  All of a sudden, Barry has 4 ABs putting up reasonable to great numbers.  And Irvin and Moore have resurfaced.  For those doubters, Robert Smith has incurred his annual knee injury.  Priest Holmes for Mushin Muhammed appears to be the trade of the year for Chris (Guido did not need him and drafted defensively).
