thirty little children
ten are in my house
ten are in my garage
ten are in my yard
i'm looking for the time
to take each one in my arms
to go to the zoo
to eat their vegetables too
they run around like dogs
they have no concern
for breakable items
for pulled hair and bubble gum
these are the days
i am laughing all of the time
so are they
they say "let's play some more"
and i let them
what else can i do
the only thing is
i didn't know these children
a year ago
and i wonder if they will let me
know them
one year from now.
