Abstract.-A damage-repair model for estimating mortality due to fluctuating exposures reduces to the probit plane model for short exposure times or negligible repair rates. Interpreting the probit plane as a cumulative damage model, data from constant exposures may be useful for predicting mortality due to fluctuating exposures of short duration.
