Animations
Animations - Time-based explorations of three-dimensional pixels (voxels). These sequences promote the artifacts inherent in the low resolution MRI source material. Three-dimensional moiré patterns emerge from the stacked voxels as they shift their orientation, slice dimensions, and magnification. Time permits a decoding of the apparent abstractions into recognized biological structures – embryos and snails in these samples. Two of the animations are pseudo time-lapse depictions of embryos based on a limited number of still images that are morphed (blended) into each other to create the appearance of continuous development.
