"In the name of God Amen. I Adam Hoffman Senr of Codorus township in the
County of York and State of Pennsylvania being old and weak in Body, but yet
of good Health and of a sound and disposing mind and memory blessed Be god for
the same Do make ? and publish this my Last will and testament in Manner and
form following (that is to say) First It is my will I order and Direct that
all my Just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid off And discharged as
soon as conveniently may be after my decease. It is further my will that all
my wearing apparel shall be Equally Divided among my four sons namely Henry
John Adam and Michael and their heirs. Item I give and bequeath unto my said
son John my Large Bible and my sermon Book I give and bequeath unto my
Grandson Adam Hoffman (son of said John) without a charge being made against
any of the above named sons and grandson. Item I order and direct that all my
other Remaining Books shall be Equally divided amongst All my children and all
the children born from my daughter Elizabeth deceased who was intermarried
with John Rudisell to receive the mothers share, Item I mention that I have
sold and conveyed by Deeds heretofore all my lands mills A? unto my two sons
John and Michael their heirs and assigns forever and have Received full
payment and part in obligations from them for the same and I together with my
two sons John and Michael Hoffman have given and paid unto my other children
the following sums annexed to Each of them Respective ? unto Elizabeth (now
deceased) who was Intermarried with John Rudisell the sum of one hundred and
fifty pounds in money. Catherin now the widow of George Gantz Deceased the
sum of one Hundred and fifty pounds. Eve intermarried with Jacob Baker the
sum of one hundred and fifty pounds. Magdalena intermarried with Henry Thoman
the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds. Henry the sum of one hundred pounds.
Christina intermarried with Charles Wildeson the sum of one hundred and fifty
pounds. Barbara intermarried with Conrad Krok the sum of one hundred & fifty
pounds. My son Adam the sum of two hundred pounds. Mary intermarried with
Peter Haks the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds and I have allowed unto my
son Michael the sum of two hundred pounds in his land. Theretofore As my sons
Adam and Michael are advanced above the Rest of my children it is my will that
they shall all be made equal with my said two sons and when all are Equalised
the remainder of my Estate shall be ? equally divided among all my children
share and share alike and those deceased their share to be equally divided
among their heirs Excepting my son John it is my will that he shall receive
the sum of twenty seven dollars which shall be in full of his share out of all
my estate, and further I mention that I have settled with those of my children
that had worked with me over their age and I have paid them in full for the
same. And lastly I do hereto nominate constitute and appoint my son in Law
Henry Thoman and my friend John Rudisell Junr to be the executors of this my
last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time
heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last will
and testament. In witness whereof I the said Adam Hoffman have hereunto set
my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one
thousand and wight hundred and nineteen.
Signed sealed published appointed and declared by the above named Adam Hoffman
Senr to be his Last will And Testament in the presence of us who at his
request in his presence ? In the presence of each other have subscribed our
names as witnesses thereto.
