Notes for Mabel Iota Rivir

1886 Mabel Iota Rivir, the youngest child of Eli and Julia Ann Hosler Rivir, was born on July 21, 1886, in Noble County, Indiana. [1]

c 1890 Mabel Rivir lived in this house until she was age 12.
Her father, Eli Rivir, built the house south of Burr Oak in Noble County [2]

1893 Mabel Rivir attended Burr Oak school.

1893 Mabel Rivir was on the list of students taught by Alice Prickett Adair at Burr Oak School in Noble County. [3]

1896 A souvenir for the Burr Oak school in Noble County listed Mabel Rivir and her older twin brothers (Corvin) John, Orvin (Henry) on the student list. [Photocopy, 1896 Student list of Burr Oak School in Noble County, Indiana.]

1897 School enumeration records for Noble Twp, Noble County, Indiana listed Mabel's mother Julia Hosler with children Orvin (age 16), Corvin (age 16), and Mabel Rivir (age 10).

1897 "Eli Rivir, wife and daughter Mabel took in the excursion to Niagara Falls this week." [5] [6]

1899 Eli Rivir's family moved from Noble County to Marion, Wabash County, Indiana.

1900 Eli River (age 56) and Julia L River (age 58), married for 34 years, lived in Liberty Twp, Wabash County, Indiana, in a household with Orvin H River (age 20), John River (age 20), and Mabel River (age 14). The children attended school. [7] [8]

1907-1908 Eli Rivir, retired, and Julia lived at 1002 W. Third, Marion, Grant County, Indiana. They had a phone. Mabel Rivir lived at the same address. [9] [10]
