1870 James Henry, son of John Harte, bookkeeper, and Eliza Howes Meakins, was born on Janurary 10 in Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario. [1] [2] [3]
1881 Henry Harte was awarded the Ohio Prize in English from the Ontario Model School. Judith Schafer Chevalley Hiss had a book titled Views in Central Abyssinia, published in 1868. An inscription in the front of the book states, "Ontario Model School, Ohio Prize in English in Section I of III Division, Presented to Henry Harte by the Education Department of Ontario, June 30th, 1881."
1895 James H. Harte died on August 4 in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. The cause of death was consumption. [4] He was buried at Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and later moved to Hamilton, Ontario.
