Charles, the son of Reinhart Hiss and Louise Scherzer, was a mechanical engineer. He was born and lived in Barberton, Ohio. Martha, the daughter of Frank J. Park and Verna Riekert, was a secretary. She was born and lived in Wadsworth, Ohio.

1940 Charles Hiss (age 29) and his wife Martha Hiss (age 28) lived at 1097 Wilbeth Road in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. Martha's mother Verna Park (age 53) also lived in the household. Charles Hiss was a mechanical engineer at a rubber company and had completed college, 4th year. Martha had completed high school, 4th year, and Verna had completed 8th grade and was a house keeper in a private home. All were born in Ohio and had lived in Wadsworth, Summit County, Ohio, in 1935. 1941 Charles Hiss and his wife Martha lived at 1097 W Wilbeth Rd, Akron, Ohio. Charles was a mechanical engineer at Goodyear. [5]

1950 Charles Hiss (age 38) and his wife Martha Hiss (age 38), son Robert P Hiss (age 8), and Martha's mother Verna Park (age 63) lived in Akron, Summit County, Ohio. Charles was a mechanical engineer. [6]

1974 Martha E. Hiss died on June 24 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, and was buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron. [7] [8]
