Notes for Thomas Morton

"Arriving on the Anne in 1623, Thomas Morton, Jr. was probably a son of the Thomas Morton who had arrived on the Fortune in 1621 and died before the 1627 division. The senior Thomas was most likely the brother who witnessed the betrothal of George Morton, q.v., in Leiden in 1612. The junior Thomas Morton married at Plymouth, Rose _____, possibly ca. 1645 when he purchased a farm, and she died 31 November 1685 (MD 15:213). He apparently left no issue, and he deeded his whole estate to his faithful servant, Samuel Gardiner, whom he brought up from childhood (PN&Q 5:122)." [1]
