Notes for Thomas Morton

"Thomas Morton arrived on the Fortune in 1621 and received one share in the 1623 land division. His name was in the 1627 cattle division, but then crossed out, indicating that he died around this time. He was probably the father of the Thomas Morton, Jr., q.v., who arrived in 1623. Neither should be confused with Thomas Morton of Merrymount, who was not a resident of Plymouth Colony, but whose career was at times interwoven with the life of Plymouth, to the dislike of the latter (see text)."
