1817/18 Michael Hoffman, miller, was taxed in Heidelberg Twp, York County for 43 acres and saw and oil mills. [17]

1819/20 Michael Hoffman, miller, was taxed in Heidelberg Twp, York County for 40 acres and saw and grist mills. [18] [19]

1819 Adam Hoffman, of Codorus Twp, sold land, on March 22, in Heidelberg Twp, to Michael Hoffman, son of Adam, of Heidelberg Twp, York County. The land had a water, corn, grist mill, oil, plaisler, and saw mill thereon erected. Adjacent land was held by John Ernst, John Hoffman (conveyed the same day), and Samuel Brillhart (deceased). Codorus Creek was on the boundary. Adam Hoffman (party to this deed) received a patent for the land on 19 December, 1789 [20]. Water rights for the mill from Codorus Creek were described, with their effect upon John Hoffman. Witnessed by John Rudisill and John Hinkle. [21]

1819 Michael Hoffman was named as one of four sons in the will of his father, Adam Hoffman. Sons Michael and John had received all the lands and mills from father Adam and had paid the other heirs for those lands. [22]
