1692 John Homes, brother of William, died on May 20 in the parish of Raphoe, Co. Donegal. William Homes wrote in his diary, "My brother John Homes was killed by Thunder and lightening in the Parishe of Raphe, Maij 20th 1692 about two afternoon. He was burryed next day toward night in his fathers grave in the Churchyard of Donachmore, he left behind him five children, viz: Margaret, John, Johnet, Jane, and Rebecca." [1]
