Notes for Julian

In his will, dated 1 April 1623 and proved 28 June 1623, the Rev. William Tyes, pastor of the "Church of Donniate [Donyatt] within the dioces of Bathe and Wells," gives "unto my wife Julian Tyes twenty pound" and an annuity of during her life of ten pounds. He bequeaths the remaining term of specified parcels to "Jonathan Gillet the sonne of Will(ia)m Gillett Clarke p[ar]son of Chafecombe in the Countie of Soms[e]t." He also gives to "Jonathan Gillet twenty pound and to the rest of my daughter in lawe Abia her children twenty pound to be devided equallye amonge them." He names his brothers John Tyes and James Tyes and several other relatives. He gives the rest of his goods and chattels unbequeathed to son-in-law William Gillet who he names executor. 1623 William Tyes was buried on May 7 in Donyatt, Somerset, England. "Donyatt, 1623 Burials, May 7 William Tyas, rector of Donniate [footnote: William Tyes was Rector of Donyatt 1592-1623]." [2]

1623/4 Julian Tyes, widow, was buried on March 10 at Chaffcombe, Somerset, England. "1623[/4] Burials Mar. 10 Julian Tyes, wid." [3]
