Research Notes:
The baptism date of this Rebecca Briggs would make her about the right age to have been the wife of Thomas Cornell. [3] In 1673 at the trial of Thomas Cornell, son of Rebecca and Thomas Cornell, John Briggs [4] testified that in a vision Rebecca referred to herself as John Briggs' sister. Whether John Briggs meant that Rebecca was his sister, sister-in-law, or simply a "sister" (member) of his church is unknown.
The following records identify a John Briggs who may have been a half sister of the Rebecca Briggs baptized in 1600 as a Henry Briggs of the same parish, St James, Clerkenwell, had a son John in 1618. However, the John Briggs of Portsmouth may have been born earlier than 1618.
