Mary Cornell married William Creed and married Richard Betts after William Creed died.

1665 "March 1, 1665 [1664/5], a convention was held at Hempstead under authority of the English governor ... Delegates ... Newtown. Richard Betts and John Coe." [1]

1686 On 15 December, Jeremiah Hubbard, Daniel Whitehead and William Creed, all of Jamaica, exchanged Jamaica lands. [2]

1710 In the name of God, Amen. I William Creed Junr., of Jamaica, in Queens County, on the Island of Nassau, within the province of New York, gentleman, being now very sick & weake in body but of sound & perfect mind & memory, considering ye certainty of death but the uncertain hour thereof, do make this my last will and testament in manner & form following. I make my wife executor with full power to sell my lott of land in the township of Jamaica, commonly called Higbie's lott, or some other part of my lands, not exceeding in value 200 pounds. And whereas I am with Thomas Whitehead and Abel Gale, security for a certain sum of money, for Francis Sawyer of Jamaica, and whereas I have further advanced money to the said Sawyer to indemnify then, for which he hath by mortgage made over his house and some land in Jamaica to me. It is my wish that the equity of redemption be taken away, and the said house and land be sold by my executors, and that they be indemnified by the proceeds. I leave to my son William Creed one hundred acres of land in Jamaica, to be appointed for him by my executors. I leave all the rest of my houses and lands to my two sons, William Creed and Augustine Creed. I also give them 4 cows, 8 horses, two plows and other farming implements. I leave to my daughter Elizabeth Creed one hundred pounds, when one and twenty: and to my daughter Sarah Creed one hundred pounds when 21: and one hundred pounds to my daughter Letitia Creed when 21, to be paid by her brother Austin Creed. My wife is to have the sole use and possession of all my estate, for the good education of my children. My executors are to sell the negro girl Isabel, and enough is to be added to the amount to make one hundred pounds, and paid to my wife Maty and my daughters Elizabeth and Sarah and Letitia. My daughters are not yet aged 18. I appoint my father William Creed and my (2) brothers-in-law Thomas Cornell and "Thos." Whitehead and my beloved friend Samuel Cloves, to be my executors. dated 1 May 1710: proved 3 June 1710: witnesses Robert Read and Hendrick Brondber and Andrew Gibb : the Judge was "Tho:" Willett " the clerk was "Saml." 1710 On 3 December, Augustin Creed was baptized, son of William Creed and Mary at Jamaica. [6] [7]

1711 On 10 April, Richard Betts, of Newtown, married Mary Creed, widow of Jamaica, perhaps this Mary Creed. [8]

1712 Richd ye Son of Richd & Mary Betts [was baptized] May 4, 1712 at Jamaica. [9]
