1850 John and Catherine Moyer lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with children Barbary (age 20), George (age 17), Harriet (age 16), Abram (age 13), and Jacob (age 8). [1]

1860 John and Catherine Moyer lived in Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana with Abraham Moyer (age 22), Jacob Moyer (age 18), and Catharine Culp (age 11). [2]

1870 Jacob Myers (age 28) and his parents, John and Catherine Myers [Moyer], lived in Harrison, Elkhart, Indiana with Elisabeth Beutler (age 54, born in Germany), and Mary Oyman (age 7, born in Michigan). [3] [4]

1874 Jacob R Moyer of Ashland County, Ohio had land in section 29 of Harrison Twp, Elkhart County, Indiana. [5]

1907 Jacob Moyer died on April 8 and was buried at Old Yellow Creek Cemetery, Elkhart County, Indiana. Jacob Moyer was born on March 23, 1843. [6] [7]

1907 An obituary for Jacob R. Moyer reported [8]:

Jacob Moyer died at the home of his nephew, Josiah Rohrer, near South West, Elkhart County, Indiana, Apr. 5, 1907; aged 65y. 12 d. He lived with his parents until their death, since then he lived by himself nearly all the time. When his friends learned of his sickness they persuaded him to go to the home of his nephew. He was sick about a week-having lung trouble. He leaves one brother and other relatives. Buried at the Yellow Creek grave yard, Sunday, Apr. 7. Funeral services by Jonas Loucks and I. P. Moore.

Another pair of notices reported the following: Jacob Moyer Dead. Jacob Moyer, 65 years old and who was born in Elkhart county died Friday morning at the home of Josiah Rohrer in Harrison township, after a brief illness. Mr. Moyer was the son of John Moyer and his only surviving relative is a brother, who now resides in Northern Michigan. The deceased lived about one mile west of Southwest and was engaged in driving a milk route. When he became very sick Mr. Rohrer took him to his home and gave him the best of treatment. Mr. Moyer was possessed of limited means. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1 o'clock p.m. at the Rohrer home. Interment was made in the Yellow Creek cemetery. [9]

Jacob Moyer born in Ashland county, Ohio March 23, 1842 died in Harrison township, Elkhart county, Indiana with his parents. As long as they lived the best of his life being spent in caring for them. He leaves no near relatives except for a brother, John Moyer in Emmet county, Michigan. Funeral services held Sunday afternoon at the Yellow Creek Church, where a large concourse of friends had gathered to pay their respects to one they learned to love. Funeral service was conducted by Rev Isaac, P. M. Moore, and Jonas Loucks. [10]

Note: Josiah Rohrer was the son of Jacob R Moyer's half-sister, Harriett.
