Notes for Henry Cockerham

1796 Henry Cockerham, of Rutherford County, sold land to Samuel Hunter. The 50 acre tract was on Bullino Creek, part of Green River. Dated February 10, 1791. Witnessed by John Young and Robert Young. [1]

1820 Henry Cockran lived in Rutherford County, North Carolina in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 2 (10 thru 15), and 1 (45 and over); and females: 3 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44). [2]

1820 Henry Cockram received a grant for 50 acres in Rutherford County on Maple Creek adjacent to land of James Cockram and McKinney. [3]

A biosketch reports [4]:

Henry Cockerham b. Va. ca. l760. Served 2nd Va.Regt. Name spelled Cockran,Cockram,Cockron,and Cockrumon Armyrecords. Became ill at Valley Forge and spent a convalescent furlough at home. Was married in Mecklenburg Co., Va. in 1782. Was in Rutherford Co., N.C. in 1802.
