1893 CPL Oliver W. Yundt died on December 16 and was buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania. CPL Oliver W. Yundt was born on April 30, 1841. [3] [4]

The son of John & Elizabeth (Wolf) Yundt, in 1860 he was a farmer living with his family in Southampton Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. A Civil War veteran, he served two terms of service: 1. Drafted in Carlisle October 16, 1862, mustered into federal service at Camp McClure in Chambersburg November 4 as a private with Co. K, 158th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), and honorably discharged with his company August 12, 1863. 2. Enlisted and mustered in Alexandria, Virginia, October 27, 1864, as a private with Independent Co. C, Pennsylvania Infantry, a regiment not found in Frederick H. Dyer's reference work A Compendium of the War of the Rebellion, although a company muster roll does exist. He was promoted to corporal June 13, 1865, and honorably discharged with his company July 20, 1865, in Harrisburg. He married Margaret Jane McCracken and fathered Jane E. "Jennie" (b. 05/15/74 - married a Humm), Harriet Ann (b. 04/16/76 - married William A. Lynch), Ella May (b. 06/18/79 - married William A. Lynch), and John Wellington (b. 05/08/81). (It is not known if the son-in-law[s] William A. Lynch were one man.) He lived the last seventeen years of his life in Altoona, Blair County, working as a railroad foundryman and there was a member of Ward Post 468, G.A.R., and died at his home after a brief illness.
