1685 James Pharo was born on 31 of month 6 (August) in Burlington County, New Jersey to parents James and Ann Pharo. [1] Reported at Woodhouse, Nottingham, West Jersey. [2]

1690 Deed. George Hutcheson of Burlington, merchant, to James Pharoe, son of James Pharoe, dec'd, of Nottingham Woodhouse, said County, for 50 acres in the Yorkshire Tenth. Dated November 3. [3]

1704 William Murfin and Sarah Bunting were married on August 8, at Chesterfield. Witnesses: James Pharo and others. [4]

1710 James Pharoe, yeoman, of Chesterfield, Burlington County, West Jersey sold to Daniel Leet, of same, for £5, 1 acres. Signed James (X) Pharoe. Wit: Thomes Gardner. Dated October 15. [5]

c 1710 James Pharo and Thomas Ridgway, of upper section of Burlington county, New Jersey, moved to Little Egg Harbor in the early 1700s. [6]

1712 James Pharoh was overseer of the highways in Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. [7]

1715 James Pharo and sister Mary Holloway witnessed a deed for George Nicholson of Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. [8]

1717 The will of brother-in-law John Holloway was dated 16 Feb 1716-7 at Chesterfield, Burlington County. John Holloway named Wife Mary, daughter Avis (under 18), sons George, John, James, all under 21; George is given to brother James Pharo, until he is 21: "My estate." Executors were wife Mary and brother James Pharo. Proved 20 Apr 1717. [9]

1724 James Pharo and Gervas Pharo made the inventory for the estate of Thomas Ridgeway in Little Egg Harbor, Burlington County, New Jersey. [10]

1725 Avis Holloway and Samuel Schooley, both of Chesterfield, were married on May 27 at Chesterfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by James Farrow and others. [11] [12]

1731 George Holloway and Ruth Wood were married on November 10, at Springfield, Burlington County. Witnesses: James Pharo, and others. [13]

1739 James Pharo voted in an election in Burlington County, New Jersey. [14]

1745 James Farrow, perhaps this one, was a freeholder in Chesterfield Township, Burlington County, New Jersey. Dated April 15. [15]

1760 James died in March of 1760, in Burlington County, New Jersey. Will of James Pharo yeoman of Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Seeman, dated Nov. 17, 1757, proved Mar. 28, 1760, mentions cousin James, son of Jarvis Pharo, deceased, and the children of cousin James:--Jarvis, Amos, Timothy, James, Elizabeth and Ann; Avis, wife of Samuel Scholey; cousin George Holloway and his sons Isaac and George; John and George, sons of cousin John Holloway, dec'd. Owned 126 acres at Barnegat, home farm and personal property. The will provides the names of three of his Holloway nephews (called "cousins"), his niece Avis (Holloway) Scholy, and 10 grand nephews and nieces. James cared for nephew George Holloway after the death of George's father. James married Rebecca, named executrix of his estate. Executor and residuary legatee: cousin James Holloway. Witnesses: Joseph Reckless, Isaac Decow, Sam Harris. Inventory 126.14.8, including bonds: made by Issac Decow and Joseph Reckless Mar. 25, 1760. Account of Rebekah Holloway, sole Executrix of James Holloway, the Executor named, who reports the estate her debtor of 73-2-5, Feb. 4, 1765. (Lib. 9, page 427)[16]
