1682 Thomas L. Stokes of Burlington County was born in 1682 in Centerton, Burlington County, New Jersey.

1685 Deliverance daughter of Isaac and Lydia Horner was born on 25 of month 1 1685. Burlington Monthly Meeting. [1] [2]

1699 Thomas Stokes lived in Waterford Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey.

1704 Thomas Stokes Jr, of Burlington County, married Deliverance Horner, of Burlington, daughter of Isaac Horner of Northampton and Lydia Wright, on October 3, in the Burlington Meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

1704 "To all captains & other military officer concerned" … Tho Stoaks Juner was listed as a Quaker excused from military duties in Northampton, Burlington County. [13]

1708 John Matlack and Hannah Horner were married on May 20, at the house of Isaac Horner. Witnessed by Deliverance and Thomas Jr Stoakes and others. [14]

1708 Thomas Stokes was named as the husband of Deliverance Horner, daughter of Isaac Horner in Isaac's will. Thomas Stokes was named as an advisor to widow Lydia Horner, his mother-in-law, as she was named as executrix to her husbands will on 8 December 1708. [15]

1709 John Simons and Hannah Mayo [relationship unknown] were married on October 20. Witnessed by Tho Stoke Junior and Deliverance Stoaks and others. [16]

1709 Thomas Stokes Jr moved to Waterford Twp, where he lived until he died. [17]

1709 Thomas Stokes purchased of John Kay of Springwell, three hundred acres of land (this land bounded on the north by the south side of the north branch of Cooper's creek; it extends along both sides of a tributary of the same, and includes what is now some of the best soil in the neighborhood) in 1709 in Waterford Township, Camden County, Delaware. 1710 Mary Hudson and John Eves, both of Willingboro Twp, Burlington County, were married on August 17, in Northampton Twp, Burlington County. Witnessed by Thomas Stoakes Junior and others. [19]

1710 Joseph Stokes and Judith Lippincott, both of Burlington County, were married on 9 of month 9, in Evesham Twp. Witnessed by Deliverance Stoks and others. [20] [21] [22]

1711 Rachel Horner and Joshua Humpheries were married on June 21, in Northampton Twp, Burlington County. Witnessed by Deliverance and Thomas Stoaks and others. [23]

1713-15 Deliverance Stokes died after having 6 children. [24] [25]

1715 Thomas Stocks and Rachel Wright, of Westbury, Long Island, declared their intentions to marry. Dated in 5th month, at Newton/Haddonfield Meetings [26].

1715 Thomas Stokes of Waterford, Glouster County, West Jersey, married Rachel Wright, daughter of Job Wright, late of Oysterbay, deceased, and his wife Rachel. Dated on 1 of month 7, at Westbery [Westbury, Long Island?]. Witnessed by Hannah Wright, Jacob Wright, Thomas Townsend, Sarrah Townsend, and others (no Stokes). [27] [28] [29] Rachel Wright was daughter of Job Wright and Rachel Townsend. [30] [31] [32]

1715 Freedom Lippincott, of Evesham, and Elizabeth Wills, daughter of John Wills of Northampton, were married on 17 of month 9 (November), at Northampton meeting, Burlington County, New Jersey. Witnessed by Thomas Stoaks and Thomas Stoaks Jr and Josep Stoaks and others. [33]

1719 Thomas Stokes was bequeathed a pair of oxen and all the other horned cattle in his father's will on 13 October 1719. [34]

1726 Thomas Stokes had a debt due to the estate of John Moore of Burlington County, New Jersey. [35]

1732 Thomas Stokes was one of the signers for the Society of Friends on a deed for land next to the meeting house in Gloucester County, New Jersey. [36]

1733 Thomas Stokes and Rachel Stokes witnessed the will of Joseph Bate of Waterford Twp, Gloucester County. [37]

1734 Rachel Stokes, daughter of Thomas Stokes of Gloucester County, married John Cowperthwaite on 7 of month 9, at the Haddonfield meeting house. Witnessed by Thomas and Rachel Stocks. [38]

1736 Thomas Stokes died on November 6, 1736, at age 54 years. The will of Thomas Stoaks, husbandman, was dated December 27, 1736 at Waterford, Gloucester County. The will named wife, Rachel, use of plantation during widowhood. Sons Benjamin, Thomas (to have plantation in Chester Township, Burlington County), Joshuway (to have home plantation, paying my son Jacob £50). Daughters Ledia, Deliverance and Rachel (had their portions); Hannah, Cosier and Roseauner (to have legacies at marriage, or 21). Executors named as wife and brother Joseph Stoakes. Witnesses were Jon. Hollingshead, John Matlack, John Matlack, Junior, Peter Stringham. Affirmed 27 April, 1737. [39]. The transcription of the will has been published [40].

1737 Renunciation on April 27 of Joseph Stokes [Stoakes], one of the executors. [41]

1737 Inventory, 2nd mo. (Apr.), 4th day, £278.13.11; made by Wm. Tomlinson, Sam. Lippincott. [42]

1738 Rachel Stokes, of Waterford, Gloucester County; widow and executrix of Thomas Stokes; dated her will on 12 mo. (Mar.), 29 da[y]. To Benjamin Stokes his father's best hat; Lydia (wife of Saml. Haines of Northampton), Thomas Stokes, Deliverance (wife of Darling- Conrow), Rachel (wife of John Copperthwaite), each 5 shillings; daughter, Keziah, a negro girl. Son, Joshua, executor. Remainder of estate to daughter Hannah, son Jacob, daughter Keziah, son John and daughter Rosanna, to be paid at 21 or marriage. Witnesses: Henry Jones, Isaac Matlack, Sam'l Lippincott. Affirmed April 20, 1748. [43]

1738 Inventory (£270.8.10) includes cash, £180.10.0; mulatto boy, £25 ; girl, 30. Appraisers: Saml. Lippincott, John Collins. Dated April 20. [44]
