John Dalton, son of David Dalton:

Snippet: ... "Oct. 1758, Albemarle County Virginia, died 15 Sept. 1838, Bledsoe County, Tennessee. He moved to Rutherford County, N.C. about 1782. He was the son of David Dalton, who had settled in Rutherford County about 1780 and died there in 1804. John Dalton married first Lucy Sims about 17880 in Virginia. Lucy was born 24 March 1758, Orange County, Virginia, died 2 Sept. 1823, Bledsoe County, Tennesses and was buried at the old McReynolds cemetery three miles south of Pikesville. She was ... William Sims under whom John Dalton served during the Revolutionary War." [1]

1797 John Dalton and John McCain, both of Rutherford County, North Carolina, were heirs by marriage of William Sims, deceased, of Albemarle, Virginia. [2]

1833 John Dalton, age 74, testified in court in Bledsoe County, Tennessee that he had served in the Revolutionary War in Albemarle County, Virginia under Captain Simms, his father-in-law. He was born on 3 October 1758 in Albemarle County. [3]

1850 John Dalton died at age 80 in Carroll County, Virginia. [4]
