Notes for Joseph Ivins

1787 Daniel Hancock was named as the guardian of Sarah Ivins, regarding a citation to Joseph Ivins, son of Solomon Ivins. The notation "son of Solomon" appears to be a different handwriting from the rest of the document. Dated May 3. [1] This series of documents includes the final account for Joseph Ivins, which mentions an amount "Rec'd of Samue Gibbs on a Judgement Entered against him at the Suit of John Thorn Surviving Exec of Isaac Ivins Dec's Joseph Ivins part thereof". This suggests that Joseph Ivins, son of Solomon and grandson of Isaac, was called as a witness in the settlement of the estate of grandfather Joseph Ivins. Sarah was a grand-daughter of Joseph and might have been a daughter of Solomon.

1787 Rebecca Swift, wife of Thomas Swift, commanded that the account of the estate of Joseph Ivins by Thomas Scattergood be reviewed. Dated October 12. [2] The auditors were to submit a determination between Thomas Scattergood and Daniel Hancock, the guardian of Sarah Ivins, grand-daughter of Joseph Ivins. [3]

1795 Joseph Ivins and Joseph Scattergood, both of Mansfield Twp, Burlington County and both grandsons of Joseph Ivins Senior, partioned land that they had inherited from Joseph Ivins Senior. Dated 19th day of 11th month, 1795. The land was on the road from Burlington to Black Horse, bounded by lands of Solomon Ivins, William Wright, Ebenezer Bunting, Samuel Craft, Daniel Hancock, Thomas Bunting. Witnessed by Samuel and Asher Woolman. Recorded March 10, 1806. [4]
