Research Notes:
Edith Miles Todd states that James and Samuel were on the ship with their father William in 1834 and were evidently taken in by passengers, that William's son Charles was in Canada wither they were bound, and that James died in Toronto in 1887. [1]
The ship passenger list indicates that it was Charles and Samuel who were on the voyage with their father William in 1834, not James. [2]
A James Billing, carpenter, lived in Toronto, York County, Ontario, and died in 1896:

1881 James Billing (age 52) and Barbara Billing (age 50) lived in St Patricks Ward, Toronto City, Canada. James was born in England and Barbara in Ireland. Their religion was Church of England. James was a carpenter. [5]
1891 James Billing (age 64) and Barbara Billing (age 65) lived in St Patricks Ward, Toronto City, Ontario. James was born in England and Barbara in Ireland. Their religion was Church of England. James was a carpenter and Barbara worked in a knitting factory.
1896 James Billing, age 69, died on July 23 in Toronto, York County, Ontario. He was a carpenter and his religion was Church of England. [6]
