Research Notes:

The notes above are for Hannes Mohler, son of Henry Mohler. [8] Elizabeth Landis Carson summarized deeds involving Henry Mohler, Ludwig Mohler, and George Mohler, all of whom received warrants for land between 1735-1755 in Lancaster County. This disagrees with lineages, listed below, which report Ludwig as the primary ancestor. [9]

A genealogy, reportedly based on personal knowledge, names Ludwig Mohler with sons Jacob and Henry, both of whom had sons named John. John son of Jacob had sons John, Daniel, Jacob, and Henry. [10] Mennonite Vital Records reports a similar family with additional sons George and John. [11]

A Sons of the American Revolution application names John Mohler (1756-1821) with an erased spouse name of Catherine Bowman. Henry Mohler (1780-1853) was named as their son with wife Mary. [12]

A different John Mohler, married to Ann died in Lancaster County in 1821. He also had a son John.

Mennonite Vital Records reports that Johannes Mohler was born on September 16, 1757. He married Ann Bollinger. [13]

1818 John Mohler of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, wrote his will dated January 3. The will was proved on November 21, 1821. The will named wife Ann and mentioned equal 12 parts. Son John inherited the plantation that John Senior had inherited from his father, except the buirring (burying?) ground and the 9 acres purchased of Joseph Groff. Three sons Daniel, Henry, and John were named. Samuel Landis was an executor. The will named daughters Elizabeth spouse of Samuel Fahs and 8 other daughters Nancy spouse of Philip Weist, Salome spouse of John Eicholtz, Susanna spouse of Benjamin Riegle, Mary spouse of John Merckle of Cumberland County, Hannah spouse of Samuel Landis, Catharine, Esther, Rebecca. Several properties were described. [14]
