Notes for Jacob Mohler

1756 On 20 December, Henry Mohler [Molar] and wife Elizabeth; of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; sold land to son Jacob Mohler. The land had been granted to John White, merchant of Philadelphia. [1] John White indentured the land to Henry Mohler on 19 November, 1736. The tract of 245 acres was on Cocalico Creek. Another tract of 55 acres was patented by Henry Mohler on 30 May 1738. [2] Henry and Elizabeth Mohler transferred the land for natural love and affection and for 25 shillings to son Jacob Mohler. Signed by Henry Mohler by his letter and by Elizabeth by her mark. Witnessed by George Witer and George Hitler. [3]

1795 On 25 April, Jacob Mohler, Christian Mohler, and Margaret Zug (wife of John Zug), three children of Henry Mohler, late of Cocalico, received £182 and released Jacob Keller and Daniel Bowman, executors of the estate of Henry Mohler. [4]

1840 On 21 July, Jacob Steffly of Elizabeth Twp, Lancaster County, executor for Jacob Mohler, deceased, of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, sold land to Jacob Mohler's son, John Mohler of Ephrata Twp, Lancaster County. The land had been sold by Henry Mohler and wife Elizabeth to Jacob Mohler, deceased, on 20 December 1756. There were two tracts of land in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. One was 160 acres in Cocalico Twp, now Ephrata Twp, described in Lancaster deed S-16, dated 28 September 1792. This tract was granted in Jacob Mohler's will, dated 29 March, 1829 for John Mohler. This tract adjoined land of Henry Mohler, John Mohler, Michael Mohler, and others. On another tract of 40 acres, adjoining John Mohler, lived Jacob Mellinger. Part of the will of Jacob Mohler was reiterated and land was described adjoining John Moore, Jacob Landis, Samuel Taffes?, Samuel Landis, Mary Mohler, John Mohler, Mochael Cober [Coover?], John Cober, John Fry, George Sweigart, late Peter Groff, Conrad Taschnacht, Jacob Gorgas, all being the land that Jacob Mohler bequeathed to his son John Mohler. Research Notes:

Mary Bollinger (born 2 May 1782) has been named as a spouse of Jacob Mohler. Married 27 March, 1800 at First Reformed Church, Lancaster County. Descendants reportedly moved to Ohio. [6]
