A biosketch reports [1]:

Dr. Franklin Brown Pickett came to Worth County May 1st, 1897, and located at Ty Ty, Ga., after his graduation in April of the same year. He received his degree as a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical Department of the University of Georgia.

While Dr. Pickett is now a resident of Tift County, since the cutting off of Ty Ty into Tift, he has given his splendid services all these years in large part to the people of the eastern part of Worth County, as well as surrounding counties. He has accumulated a large estate of land and city property, and is one of the leading citizens of Tift County. He is a promoter of educational and religious affairs.

He married Miss Martha Annie Williams, of Ty Ty, and they had three children: Theodore Franklin, Mary Kathlyne and Frankie Evelyn, all of whom died young.

Mrs. Pickett belongs to the Williams and Gibbs families, all early settlers of the eastern part of Worth County, who have given distinguished service, not only to this section, but to the nation. She is a sister of the late Maj. Gen. Ezekiel J. Williams, who distinguished himself as a soldier of three wars.
