A biosketch of Reuben R. Pickett reports the following:

Dr. Reuben R. Pickett was born in Webster County, Ga., March 29, 1868. He graduated from the University of Georgia Medical College in Augusta in 1892. He came to Sumner im mediately afterward, where he practiced medicine until 1908, when he moved to Ty Ty and formed a business and pro fessional partnership with his brother, Dr. Frank B. Pickett. He was considered one of the best physicians in this section and his practice extended over a wide territory in the eastern part of Worth and adjoining counties. He accumulated consid erable property and had large farming interests. He was Vice President of the Bank of Ty Ty and owned property in Ty Ty, Sumner and Tifton. He was a Democrat, a Mason, a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. He was a builder and in tensely interested in the promotion of all things tending toward the improvement and upbuilding of his town and county.

He was twice married, both times at Sumner, Ga., first to Miss Katie McLeod, and they had one child, Katie Ruth Pickett. After the death of his first wife he married Miss Susie Grubbs, of Sumner, in 1899, and to them one daughter was born, Louise ( Mrs. C. A. Harrell ).

He died October 23, 1924, at Ty Ty and was buried at Tifton, Ga.

1900 Dr Roy Pickett (born in Georgia in Mar 1870, married for 5 years) lived in Sumner, Worth County, Georgia, in a household with Susie M Pickett (age 25). Dr Roy Pickett's parents were both born in Georgia. Dr Roy Pickett was a physician. [6]

1908 Reuben Pickett moved to Ty Ty, Georgia about this time and formed a business and professional partnership with his brother Dr. Frank B. Pickett. [7]

Reuben R Pickett's parents were both born in South Carolina. Reuben R Pickett could not read or write. Reuben R Pickett was a physician. [8]

1920 Reuben R Pickett (age 50, born in Georgia, married) lived in Ty Ty, Tift County, Georgia, in a household with Susie M Pickett (age 44), Louise Pickett (age 18), Mary V Grubbs (age 8), and Elizabeth Grubbs (age 5). Reuben R Pickett's parents were both born in Georgia. Reuben R Pickett could read and write. Reuben R Pickett was a physician. [9]

1924 Reuben Roy Pickett, married, spouse of Susi M. Pickett, died on October 22, at age 55, in Ty Ty, Tift County, Georgia. He was born on March 21, 1869, in Webster Co., GA., son of Jeptha B Pickett and Katherine Rainey. [10] [11]

Dr. Reuben R. Pickett Dies at Ty Ty Home

Dr. Reuben Pickett, one of Ty Ty's oldest and best known citizens, died here Wednesday, he had been in ill health nearly five months. Dr, Pickett had lived in Ty Ty and practiced medicine here for nearly 20 years, and was regarded as one of the best physicians in this section. He had accumulated considerable property and had large farming Interests and until the flrst of this year was active vice president of the Bank of Ty Ty, but retired from this position on account of i11 health. He was an active member of the Baptist church, and a ranking Mason.

Dr. Pickett was twice married His first marriage was to Miss Katie McLeod, of Worth county, after her death he married Miss Susie Grubbs, of Worth county, who survives him. He also leaves two daughters, Misses Latte Ruth and Louise Pickett; one sister. Mrs. Ida McCarty, of Washington, D.C. and two brothers, John B. Pickett, of Dawson, and Dr. F. B. Pickett of Ty Ty.

The funeral was held at the home Thursday afternoon, and Interment was at the Tifton cemetery.
