A biosketch of Jeptha B. Pickett reports the following, which has some inaccuracies in dates [1]:

Dr. Jeptha B. Pickett, known as Dr. Jack, was born in Webster County in 1860. He graduated in medicine at Atlanta College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1885. He came to Worth County and located at Sumner, where he built up a large practice. He was elected County School Commissioner of Worth. He married twice in Worth County, first to Miss Maude Cornelia Hill, and after her death was married to her sister, Miss Mattie Hill. They were members of a large and splendid family of the county. By the last marriage he had one daughter, Maude Pickett. He moved in the 90's to Springfield, La., and there he married Miss Nevie [Geneva Varner] Watts, and they had two children by this union, Nevie and Violet. He died in 1906. After his death his wife (Mrs. Nevie Watts Pickett) moved to Ty Ty, Georgia, where she lived until their daughters were grown.

Jeptha B Pickett, Jr's parents were both born in South Carolina. Jeptha B Pickett, Jr was a farmer. [6]

1900 Gertrude G Watts (born in Louisiana in Mar 1877, single), niece, lived in Police Jury Ward 6, Livingston County, Louisiana, in a household with Louisa Stevens (age 43). Gertrude G Watts's parents were both born in Louisiana. Gertrude G Watts was a capitalist. [14]

1900 J. B. Pickett and Geneva G. Watts were married on June 26 in Tangipahoa, Louisiana. [15]

1907 Dr J B Pickett died on September 16 and was buried at Colyell Baptist Church Cemetery, Livingston Parish, Louisiana. Dr J B Pickett was born on December 24, 1857. [16] [17] [18]

1910 Nevie G Pickett (age 31, born in Mississippi, widowed) lived in Ty Ty, Tift County, Georgia, in a household with Nevie J Pickett (age 8), and Violet K Pickett (age 3). Nevie G Pickett's parents were both born in Louisiana. Nevie G Pickett could not read or write. Nevie G Pickett was a manager. [19]

1951 Geneva Gertrude Watts Varner died on August 24 and was buried at Hazlehurst City Cemetery, Jeff Davis County, Georgia. Geneva Gertrude Watts Varner was born on March 9, 1877. [21] [22]

1968 Martha Maud Burnett, spouse of Leonard E Burnett, died on June 3, at age 76, in Waynesville, Haywood County, North Carolina. She was born on February 25, 1892, in Worth, Georgia, United States, daughter of Jeptha Pickett and Mattie Hill. She had lived at Balsam, Haywood, North Carolina. [23] [24]

1908 Jeptha B Pickett, spouse of Martha Hill, died in 1908, at age 47. He was born in 1861. [25]
